Organization: Family Mental Health Support Network of Niagara

Description of Services: Nonprofit community-based family and children's mental health organization that provides mental health services and supports for children, youth, and families in crisis * services include consultation, training, public education, research, and advocacy

Peer support groups, education, and training for family members, service providers, and caregivers * sessions may include information such as advanced directives and safety issues

Programs include:
  • coping skills for adults
  • mindfulness-based self-care for children
  • Youth Transitions Skills Program * includes safeTalk for youths aged 15-24
  • mental health first aid

- Suicide alertness and prevention training program * training that prepares people to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to first aid resources and interventions * teaches the TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen and Keep Safe)

Fees: Free * $25 non-compulsory donation
